The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that nine members of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) were killed in clashes with Kurdish fighters in Ain Al-Arab (Kobane) city, northeast Syria, on Monday.
Units of the Kurdish People's Protection Units (commonly known as the YPG) targeted two vehicles of ISIL in Al-Shalabiya district, southeast Kobane, killing five militants.
The YPG, backed by the Iraqi Kurdish Peshmerga forces, ambushed ISIL militants in the city and killed four of them, SOHR reported, noting that fighting is still going on.
Meanwhile, the US-led coalition forces launched more airstrikes on an ISIL camp on the southern outskirts of the city which resulted in a huge explosion at an ammunition cache of the group.
SOHR added that it documented 1,500 executions by ISIL since the group proclaimed the establishment of caliphate in northeast Syria five months ago.
The figure includes 1,429 who have been executed since June with civilian victims accounting for 879.
A total of 700 members of Al-Sha'itat tribe in the eastern governorate of Deir Azzor and 63 members of the Al-Nusra Front, an offshoot of Al-Qaeda organization, were executed by the ISIL.
The Syrian military personnel represented 483 of the executions while four ISIL militants were also killed by their colleagues under different charges, according to the report.
In a related development, the Syrian regime continued the air attacks on several parts of the country, killing six civilians and wounding more than 15 others in Zamalka and Al-Zabadani towns on the rural outskirts of Damascus.
