On the New Year Day, Damascus countryside governorate raised Thursday a 37 m- height flagpole at the hills of al-Saboura town in Damascus western entrance.
“This flagpole comes at the beginning of the new year to keep the Syrian flag hoist on the land of Damascus countryside and other Syrian cities as an indication to a new year for big victories on the Takfiri and dark terrorist powers, Hussein Makhlouf, Damascus countryside governor said in a statement.
For his part, al-Baath Arab Socialist Party’s Secretary in Damascus countryside branch Mohammad Bakhet said the Syrian flag will remain a symbol for the national unity, adding that the flagpole is considered as a loyalty to the struggle of the Syrian army and sacrifices of Syrian martyrs.
