
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, on Sunday received Nickolay Mladenov, United Nations Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, who is on a visit to the UAE, at his office at the MoFA.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the Middle East peace process and the situation in the Palestinian territories.
They also discussed the developments of the Middle East peace process and the efforts being made to launch serious and effective talks that would lead to the achievement of comprehensive and just peace, restore the rights of people and enable all peoples of the region to live in peace, prosperity and well-being.
They two sides discussed bilateral relations and ways of promoting them in various spheres and the latest regional and international developments.
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed underlined the importance of supporting the international legitimacy, rejecting extremism and terrorism and the breaking up of states. He noted the UAE's position on the various regional issues and its efforts in fighting extremism, promoting development, prosperity and well-being for itself and the whole region.
Sheikh Abdullah also underlined the need for the United Nations to play a larger role in achieving peace in the Middle East.
Mr Mladenov expressed his delight at visiting the UAE. He said his talks with H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed covered the latest regional and international developments as well as aspects of cooperation and ways of promoting and bolstering this cooperation.
