Al Ain Zoo today announced an exciting programme of events and activities in celebration of the 43rd UAE National Day.
Guests are invited to enjoy an array of cultural and interactive activities that reflect the UAE’s heritage with an opportunity to learn more about the Zoo’s efforts in the conservation of Arabian wildlife.
Throughout the festivities, the Zoo will be hosting numerous activities at the heritage village, and guests can enjoy a musical band, a classical cars show, and an Ayyala dance.
Visitors will also take in a falconry show and a variety of traditional poetry and theatrical performances, while henna and Arabic calligraphy are on offer. Additionally, a competition for the best traditional Emirati costume will be open to all visitors.
Visitors can celebrate this special holiday by taking in some quality time to spend with their families with a picnic on Al Ain Zoo’s beautifully manicured lawns and tour the zoo exhibits. Alternatively, they can grab a quick snack from the kiosks that are conveniently located throughout the Zoo while exploring the animal exhibits, or head to Zarafa Cafe for a delicious meal.
Commenting on the occasion, Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Director General of the Zoo and Aquarium Public Institution in Al Ain Zoo, said, "Al Ain Zoo this year is celebrating 43 years of accomplishments represented through strength and integrity. The nation’s commitment to continuously build and improve was inspired by our founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and is now led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the support of our wise and courageous leadership, all united by one goal and one destiny." "The late Sheikh Zayed had an ambitious vision that set the foundation for the UAE to become a developed nation with a strong diversified economy. It is this perseverance that established the UAE as an economic power, taking into consideration the well-being and prosperity of its citizens. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, along with the UAE’s rulers, and His Highness General Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces." Al Ain Zoo’s team will be celebrating from the 1st to 5th of December, while guests of all ages are invited to experience a range of exciting activities, filled with educational programmes that focus on the conservation of wildlife and nature. Additionally, a number of animal experiences including Bird Shows, Giraffe Feeding and Parrot Shows will also be available for guests to enjoy.
Al Ain Zoo’s doors will be open from 9 am to 9 pm during the National Day celebrations.
