Kuwait - KUNA

Kuwait Parliament speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim Monday termed as \"constructive\" his visit to Jordan and said the outcome would be \"translated into action\" in near future. The National Assembly seeks to further cement relations with Jordan, and the two sides have agreed to coordinate their positions vis-a-vis Arab matters, Al-Ghanim said in a statement to KUNA. Al-Ghanim, speaking during a dinner banquet held by Kuwait\'s Ambassador in Amman Hamad Al-Duaij, said Kuwait and Jordan enjoyed solid relations, noting that there were some 6,000 Kuwaitis studying in the Hashemite Kingdom, as well as USD billions worth of Kuwaiti investment in Jordan. He said he expressed to the Jordanian officials Kuwait\'s firm support to coping with influx of hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees. Suror said the two sides discussed a host of issues including the Israeli aggression against occupied Jerusalem. Jordanian minister of agriculture Akef Al-Zube, for his part, said he exchanged views with the Kuwaiti MPs regarding a series of issues of mutual interest. Kuwaiti MP Mubarak Al-Harees commended economic, political and social relations, backed by relavant agreements. Al-Harees said the visit of the Kuwaiti lawmakers was to expressed solidarity with Jordan with regards to the Syrian conflict and the Palestinian cause. MP Abdullah Al-Tamimi said Kuwait realized the economic burden on Jordan caused by the Syrian refugees and the Palestinian cause. CEO of Zain-Jordan Ahmad Hanandeh underlined importance of the Kuwait investments in Jordan.
