
Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and his French counterpart Laurent Fabius held today a press conference at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry in Riyadh.
During the press conference, Al-Jubeir highlighted the talks with the French minister which dealt with the work provided by the Joint Committee between the two countries co-headed by Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense, the French Minister of Foreign Affairs and what have been achieved at the level of political, economic, security, social and educational relations, pointing out the meeting between the Deputy Crown Prince and the French Foreign Minister.
He added that they discussed the latest developments in the region, including the Palestinian cause and importance of finding a method to resume negotiations with an aim to finding a solution to the conflict in addition to addressing the Syrian file and a possible mechanism to implement initiatives (Geneva 1) and what was agreed in the meetings in Vienna and New York. Al-Jubeir stressed that they also discussed issue of negotiations under the umbrella of the United Nations between the opposition and the regime.
"We discussed with the French foreign minister the latest developments in Yemen as well as the negative role of Iran and its interference in the affairs of countries in the region," Al-Jubeir added, pointing out that he briefed the French foreign minister on the Islamic Military Alliance to combat terrorism and extremism.
