President of Sudan Umma National Party al Sadek al Mahdi called on the Arab League (AL) to intervene and urge resumption of national dialogue in Sudan.
In press statements on Thursday after meeting the AL Secretary General Nabil el Araby, al Mahdi said that the outcome of the latest Arab Summit, held in Sharm el Sheikh, was discussed.
He further said that the get-together, which was held in the AL headquarters, took up also the latest developments in Sudan and the elections.
The Sudanese politician underscored that the national dialogue in his country was halted after the government organized the elections, which he does not recognize.
The two sides probed also the Yemeni crisis, al Mahdi reiterated, adding that it should not be solved by the military means.
