
Chairman of the Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) Abdullah Al-Matouq expressed his pleasure to be appointed for a third term as the UN Humanitarian Envoy.
This step shows the trust of the UN's Secretary General Ban Ki-moon in Kuwait's humanitarian efforts, Al-Matouq, also Advisor at the Amiri Diwan, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Envoy said he has received a congratulatory cable from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who praised Al-Matouq's humanitarian efforts.
His Highness also stressed in the cable that Kuwait must develop its cooperation with governmental organizations and NGOs in the whole Islamic World, to resolve prominent humanitarian issues, the Envoy noted.
