Kuwait's Minister of Justice, Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Yaqoub Al-Sanea on Saturday commended the efforts made by former Lebanese prime minister in cementing "the long-standing exemplary ties" between the two countries.
Al-Sanea said, after his meeting with Siniora - the leader of the parliamentary bloc of the Future Movement, the political leaders of both countries are keen on the close historical relationship between the two peoples.
"Mr. Siniora played an honorable role in strengthening the bilateral ties and helping Lebanon overcome the devastating impacts of the Israeli aggression in the summer of 2006," the Kuwaiti minister said.
Al-Sanea noted that the talks with Siniora dealt with the challenges facing Lebanon as a result of turmoil in the region, as well as Kuwait's relief effort for the Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
He affirmed Kuwait's commitment to addressing the humanitarian difficulties of the Syrian refugees in Lebanon and other neighbors of Syria.
Earlier today Al-Sanea and his party delivered Kuwaiti aid to Syrian refugees in the framework of "the Humanitarian Leader" campaign.
The talks were attended by Chairman of the International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO), UN Secretary General's Envoy for Humanitarian Affairs and Amiri Diwan Advisor Dr. Abdullah Al-Matouq; Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Khlaif Al-Athaina, Director General Zakat House Ibrahim Al-Saleh; Kuwait Ambassador to Lebanon Abdulaal Al-Qenaei; and Deputy Secretary-General of Kuwait Awqaf Public Foundation Mohammad Al-Jalahma.
