
The MP for the State of law Coalition, Khalid al-Asadi said the National Alliance will select its new presidency within the next few days after the completion of choosing defense and interior ministers.
He said in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / today that "the choice of a new leadership of the National Alliance with the launch of the new session is of the constants that agreed upon among the Alliance's forces."
He noted that "naming presidency will be within the mechanisms adopted within the National Alliance, according to a points system and vote after nominations are open to all forces of the NA."
Asadi said that "the National Alliance will resolve the choice of its presidency after the completion of the new nomination of the defense and interior ministers and complete the ministerial cab within the next few days."
He added, "The National Alliance will open the door of nomination in front of all the blocs within the Alliance to select any person for the presidency in accordance with the mechanism adopted."
He pointed out that "the position of Chairman of the National Alliance is not restricted to a particular bloc and will be subject to a points system and majority voting to choose a nominee."
It is mentioned that MP for the citizen coalition, Hashim al-Moussawi confirmed that negotiations for the selection of a new presidency for the leadership of the National Alliance had not yet begun, because the political blocs are busy with forming the government.
