
The funeral of first lieutenant Mohamed Ahmed Abdo, who was killed in North Sinai's terrorist attacks, took place in Alexandria Thursday.
Wrapped with the Egyptian flag, hundreds of residents carried the body of the army officer to the cemetery, chanting national and anti-terrorism slogans.
Alexandria Governor Hani el Meseiry and a number of senior army and police officers took part in the military funeral.
North Sinai witnessed a series of terrorist attacks Wednesday that left 17 army men killed, the Armed Forces said.
Meantime, at least 100 terrorists were killed by army troops during military operations in North Sinai Wednesday, the army added.
