
Algeria on Saturday condemned a bomb attack which targeted police checkpoints in Egypt's Cairo on Friday, APS news agency reported.
"It is with the strongest terms that we condemn the vile terrorist attack targeting two police checkpoints in Egypt," the official news agency quoted foreign ministry spokesman Abdelaziz Benali Cherif as saying.
Algeria has extended its most heartfelt condolences to the victims' families, the spokesman said, reiterating Algeria's solidarity and support for the Egyptian government in its fight against terrorism.
Six police officers were killed and several others were injured when a bomb exploded near a police checkpoint in Cairo, local media reported on Friday.
