
Algeria and Libya underlined Monday, in Cairo (Egypt), “the need for an urgent action”, in favour of a consensual political solution that would preserve Libya’s unity and stability, said the Foreign Ministry in a communiqué.
Foreign minister Ramtane Lamamra and the Libyan minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mohamed Abdelaziz underlined the need for an urgent action which could boost efforts for a consensual political solution that would preserve Libya’s unity, stability and territorial integrity and meet the aspirations of the Libyan people for security, peace and development,” said the source.
Lamamra met with the Libyan minister on the sidelines of the meeting of the Foreign ministers of Libya’s neighbouring countries which took place Monday in Cairo.
The Libyan minister presented during this meeting “a report on the development of the political and security situation in his country, expressing his deep concern over the deterioration of the security situation in Libya, and his wish that Libya’s neighbouring countries could play a positive role in the soonest possible to encourage Libyans to start a national inclusive dialogue,” underlined the communiqué.
At the opening of the 4th Ministerial meeting of Libya’s neighbouring countries, Lamamra addressed a speech in which he underlined that “the brothers in Libya and, especially the national civil forces are facing a real ordeal which consists of addressing the dangerous challenges that threaten the future of the country.”
