
Algeria's Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal met Sunday with visiting Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Araby who arrived in Algiers earlier in the day.
A statement issued by the cabinet said the meeting dwelt on the current situation on the Arab region and underway efforts to reach a political settlement to the crises and disputes the Arab world sees.
Sellal said he was ready to back all initiatives to settle the Libyan crisis.
The meeting was attended by Algeria Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra.
The statement said the meeting served as a chance to exchange views on international affairs of mutual interest topped by the situation in the Middle East.
