Algerian Red Crescent (CRA) announced Wednesday plans to launch an urgent blood donation campaign for Gaza hospitals which are running out of blood and medicine stocks due to ongoing Israeli war on the Palestinian Strip.
"The campaign will be organized by the CRA in coordination with the Algerian Federation of Algerian Blood Donors (FADS), the Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform and the Palestinian Embassy in Algiers," Head of the Algerian Red Crescent (CRA) Saida Benhabiles told state Radio.
The CRA will hold in the coming hours coordinating meetings with the involved parties before officially launching the campaign, she said.
Benhabiles said that she will meet the Palestinian ambassador to Algiers to determine the needs of the Gaza people and to organize other aid operations, including sending medicines and medical equipment.
President of Algerian Federation of Blood Donors (FADS) Gherbi Kaddour said that the Federation will take part in the CRA's blood donation campaign for Gaza people and would promote the campaign through the different media outlets.
For his part, Haitham Amaeri, an advisor at the Palestinian Embassy in Algiers, expressed gratitude for the Algerian leadership and people's unlimited support to the Palestinian cause and people.
