Border areas in the country's far south will benefit from development programmes, Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal said Monday in In-Guezzam, Tamanrasset (1970-km south of Algiers).
Speaking at a meeting with the local officials, following his one-day visit to this border sub-province, Sellal said the country's far south will benefit from a new development programme.
Earlier, the wali (governor) of Tamanrasset, Mahmoud Djemaa, presented a report on the development projects in the province, making a series of suggestions to contribute to the development of the region.
The proposals are relating to camel and goat breeding in the regions of In-Guezzam and Tin-Zaouatine, providing the required water to breeders, improvement of school transport, and the launch of the second stage of the road project linking the sub-province of Silet to that of Tin-Zaouatine.
