An Algerian judicial source stressed on Monday that cooperation with Egypt in the constitutional judiciary domain is a model to be followed in the Arab and African world.
The source told MENA that both Egypt and Algeria were the ones that called for setting up the Arab Association of Constitutional Courts and Councils which came to daylight in 1977 and its statute was signed in 1997 in Algeria.
The association played, since its establishment, for exchanging expertise among Arab countries in the constitutional supervision domain, he added.
The Association of Arab courts and Councils is regarded as a regional organization specialized in the field of constitutional supervision of legislation. It was established in 1997 as an organizational framework for all Courts, Councils and bodies charged with constitutional oversight of legislation in the Arab States.
