Regarding the ill-targeted exploitation of the British Public Prosecution judicial review, the Foreign Ministry described the allegations against His Majesty the King's Personal Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa as baseless, misleading and politically-motivated.
The ministry added that relevant parties in the UK will launch an investigation into the subject. Referring to the decision of the British Supreme Court of Justice, the ministry pointed out that the judicial review was of "academic" nature and that the British police "decided not to conduct an investigation on the basis of the dossier of evidence submitted to it."
The ministry explained that the move affirms the absence of evidence for the false accusations, adding that no demand for immunity was sought from the British courts as there was no immunity in itself to be lifted.
