
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General on Sunday underlined the importance of continuing efforts to help Yemen to overcome the current stalemate and proceed with the political settlement based on the Gulf initiative.
Abdul Latif Al-Zayani's statement was made during a meeting with his envoy to Yemen Saleh al-Qanaeer, who has recently returned from Sana'a after a several-day visit.
Al-Zayani confirmed the GCC's adherence to provide all support to Yemen in this regard.
According to a press release issued by the GCC Secretariat General, al-Qanaeer has presented a report to al-Zayani on the latest developments in Yemen and the results of his meetings with Yemeni officials and the ambassadors of the Group Ten countries sponsoring GCC initiative.
