
Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah arrived in Beirut on Monday leading an Arab ministerial delegation on a visit to show solidarity with Lebanon
During the one-day visit, the delegation will meet with several senior officials, including Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, Prime Minister Saeb Salam and Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil.
The delegation also includes Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Ahmed Ould Teguedi and Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Al-Araby, as well as senior officials from the League, Kuwait and Mauritania
Kuwait is president of the current Arab Summit, while Mauritania chairs the League's Council of Foreign Ministers.
On arrival, the delegation was received by Kuwaiti Ambassador to Lebanon Abdulal Al-Qenai, Secretary-General of the Lebanese Foreign Ministry ambassador Wafiq Rehima, Egypt's ambassador Mohammad Badr-Eddin Zayed and representative of the Arab League in Beirut ambassador Abdulrahman Al-Sulh
The visit comes in implementation of an Arab League Council resolution to show solidarity with the Lebanese people and government, as well as to support efforts seeking to maintain security and stability in the country.
One major issue to be addressed during the visit is the Arab League's efforts and consultations with the Lebanese institutions and political powers, with the aim of promoting stability and economic conditions in Lebanon
The Arab ministerial delegation will also discuss means to help Lebanon deliver its humanitarian role towards Syrian and Palestinian refugees.
