Arab foreign ministers will hold an urgent meeting on Wednesday to discuss the latest developments of the Yemeni crisis, Deputy Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed bin Helli has said.
The meeting will be held at the headquarters of General Secretariat of the Arab League (AL) in Cairo.
Asked about the outcome of the expected meeting, Bin Helli said that the Arab foreign ministers will first ponder over the Yemeni crisis.
The General Secretariat will issue a statement clarifying its stance on the situation in Yemen.
In a statement, Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Araby stressed support for the legitimate authority in Yemen and rejected the constitutional declaration issued by the Shiite Houthi group that he described as a coup against the legitimate regime in Yemen.
