Arab Foreign Ministers will meet here on September 6 upon invitation by Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Al-Araby to have consultations, a day before their 142 session.
The consultations will address issues not included in the 142 session agenda, and are related to the challenges and dangers threatening "some Arab individual countries or the Arab system as a whole," the League's Deputy Secretary General Ahmad bin Helli said on Sunday.
During the meeting Al-Araby will present certain proposals to deal with these challenges which pose a threat to some Arab countries, bin Helli said, noting that the "Arab League is in dire need for unified Arab stance and action in the present circumstances." As for the 142 ministerial session to be held the following day, bin Helli said that it will discuss the implications of the Israeli aggression on Gaza and reconstruction in the Strip.
The September 7 ministerial meeting was agreed upon between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and Al-Araby the last time they met in Cairo.
Abbas will offer the meeting a report on the aspects and the developments of the Palestinian cause, focusing on the aggression on Gaza and means to stop it, bin Heli said.
He will also address the persistent efforts by Egypt to reinforce the ceasefire between the Israelis and the Palestinians, in addition to the forms of necessary aid needed for the Strip, as well as opening the crossings to allow reconstruction materials into Gaza.
The foreign ministers will be briefed on proposed future steps to address the stalled political settlement between the two sides.
