Arab Lawyers Union condemns referring Bashir's case to UNSC

The Arab Lawyers Union (ALU) said on Thursday that the International Criminal Court (ICC) call to the UN Security Council to interfere in the case of Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir shows the ICC's bias against Sudan.
In a press release, the union pointed out at ICC's silence concerning international gangs and plots that aim to detach Darfur from Sudan as well as their success in detaching South Sudan from Sudan in their attempt to divide the Arab Nation.
The ALU also pointed out at the ICC's silence towards Israeli crimes practiced against Palestinians.
The union urged Arab League and African Union to work on stopping such assaults on Sudan's national sovereignty.
Bashir, 71, is wanted by The Hague-based ICC, for his alleged role in the western Sudanese region of Darfur where insurgents rose up in 2003 in an ongoing conflict that has left more than 300,000 people dead.
