
The 144th regular session of the Arab League Council kicked off at the league headquarters on Sunday at the level of the foreign ministers.
The session was presided by the minister of state of foreign affairs of the United Arab Emirates Anwar Qarqash in the presence of the league Secretary General Nabil el Araby and Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
The ministers will discuss political, economic and social issues in the Arab world, as well as the draft resolutions raised to the Arab League council, the latest developments in the Palestinian territories and the issue of settlements on the Palestinian lands and the economic boycott of Israel as a result of the settlement activities.
The Arab ministers will discuss the Syrian crisis and the issue of refugees and displaced inside and outside the Arab country.
The ministers will also discuss the conditions in Libya, Iraq, Yemen, Lebanon, Sudan. Somalia. Comoros and efforts to render the Middle East a weapon of mass destruction-free zone and the Iranian occupation of three islands of the United Arab Emirates namely Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb and the Island of Abu Musa.
