
The Arab League on Monday urged Arab countries and international community to provide urgent aid for Gaza Strip in implementation of its decisions taken at the Arab League Council meeting extraordinary at the Ministerial Level which was held here on July 14.
In a press statement ,Arab League Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine’s Affairs Mohammad Sobeih called for supporting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) for its humanitarian stance and role in harboring the internally displaced persons (IDPs), stressing that the support of the Palestinian people must be by all means including provision of medicines, water , electricity and other assistance.
He appealed to the Arab nation to exert efforts for the return of electricity to Gaza immediately, explaining that water and sanitation, lighting, hospitals and treatment and many aspects of daily life require power availability.
