Arab Parliament (AP) Speaker Ahmad al Jarwan on Thursday briefed the Arab League (AL) Secretary General Nabil el Araby on the AP initiative entitled "parliamentary vision on the protection of Syrian refugees' rights".
The initiative was earlier under consultation at a meeting at the AL General Secretariat.
AL Secretary General Nabil el Araby has voiced support for this key initiative, Jarwan told reporters following a meeting attended by members of the AP-affiliated human rights committee.
The Arab Parliament, in recognition of its humanitarian, parliamentary and moral responsibilities, is following up the Syrian refugees' issue amid challenges facing them, he added.
Jarwan pointed out that the international community has failed to find a solution to the crisis at the humanitarian level, noting that an agreement has been reached to form a team work in order to be in contact with the Syrian refugees' destination countries such as Macedonia, Cyprus, Turkey, Greece and Germany.
