Secretary-General of the Arab League Nabil Al-Araby openly denounced recent attacks by Israeli settlers in the occupied Palestinian territories and the abduction and killing of a Palestinian teen.
Al-Araby said in a statement that Israel was fully responsible for covering up such crimes against the defenseless Palestinian people and for impeding peace negotiation opportunities.
Condemning such Israeli attacks as "crimes against humanity", he called on the international community, mainly the UN Security Council, to take immediate moves to protect the Palestinian people who have been subject to daily serious violations.
The body of the abducted and slain Palestinian Mohammad Abu Khdair, aged 16, was located in the vicinity of Deir Yassin near Jerusalem. He was reportedly nabbed by Jewish settlers before his body was found.
The kidnapping is believed to come in response to the death of three Israeli teenagers, kidnapped and killed near a Jewish settlement on June 12. The bodies were found in the West Bank on Monday.
Meanwhile, Spain strongly condemned the kidnapping and killing of a Palestinian teen in East Jerusalem as a heinous crime.
The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced in a statement all violent acts that have taken place since the dead bodies of three abducted Israeli citizens were found.
The ministry called on everybody to exercise self-restraint and avoid any action that could escalate the situation.
It also emphasized that Palestinians should stop firing rockets at Israeli towns and Jewish settlers, comparatively, have to halt attacks targeting Palestinian civilians.
The ministry reiterated that peace negotiations are the only way to resolve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on the basis of a two-state solution.
In Gaza, the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said in a release the abduction and killing of a Palestinian young man by Jewish settlers in Jerusalem is a crime whose perpetrators must be punished.
It said the Israeli occupying government is fully to blame for all crimes committed against Palestinians in general.
The group, which has been ruling the Gaza Strip since 2007, urged the international community to live up to responsibility by means of taking action against such Israeli crimes against Palestinian civilians.
