
The Arab League denied that its secretariat general called for holding an urgent meeting for the joint Arab defense council to discuss the possibility of forming Arab military intervention forces to to deter terrorism.
The AL denied calling for an urgent meeting for the joint Arab defense council, a well-placed source at the AL said Sunday.
The source, meanwhile, said that a meeting for the Arab research center will be held on February 22 as part of efforts to discuss terrorism phenomenon in order to prepare a comprehensive study and suggest effective steps to confront terrorism.
Earlier, Al Arab Al Yawm Jordanian newspaper quoted an Arab diplomat as saying that the AL chief adopted a proposal to form Arab military intervention forces to deter terrorism.
