The Arab League (AL) congratulated on Thursday the Egyptian people on the conclusion of the last step of Egypt's roadmap, namely the parliament elections.
During a press conference, AL Assistant Secretary-General and head of the AL mission to follow up the Egyptian elections Haifa Abu Ghazaleh wished all success for the new parliament members.
The runoffs of the second round of Egypt's parliament polls were well-organized, she said, adding that two reports will be sent to the High Elections Committee and the AL secretary general on the electoral process, she noted.
A book will be issued to outline the pan-Arab body's experience in monitoring the three stages of Egypt's roadmap, namely the constitutional referendum and presidential and parliamentary elections.
The AL mission has followed up the second round of Egypt's parliament elections through its offices in six countries and monitors in nine governorates, Abu Ghazaleh noted.
She stressed that the AL mission has visited 876 polling stations in the second round of parliament elections.
Abu Ghazaleh praised the role played by the police and army troops to secure the parliamentary elections.
