The 143rd ordinary of the Arab Council at the delegates’ level will kick off on Saturday here for two days to be followed by the Arab foreign ministers’ meetings in preparation for the Arab summit, which will take place on March 28 and 29 in Sharm El Sheikh.
The ordinary session will address joint Arab action in the political, economic and social spheres, deputy secretary general Ahmed bin Hili said.
The event’s theme will be ‘preserving Arab national security’ as the Arab delegates will probe means to promote Arab cooperation against challenges threatening the security of the region, mainly terrorism, he said.
The agenda also cover the Palestinian developments, the situation in Lebanon, Yemen and Syria, the UAE islands issue, supporting peace in Sudan, Somalia and the Comoros Islands, he added.
