
The Arab League underlined here on Sunday the significance of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit due in the Qatari capital on Tuesday to ongoing efforts to "clear the Arab-Arab atmosphere".
Deputy Secretary-General of the Arab League Ambassador Ahmad bin Helli said in a news statement that the GCC has a key role in the promotion of pan-Arab cooperation and coordination, calling for capitalizing on this "successful experiment" to serve the interest of the Arab League.
Bin Helli voiced hope that the GCC summit in Doha could come up with recommendations and outcomes that would be conducive to better pan-Arab relations.
He added that Secretary-General of the Arab League Nabil Al-Araby will attend the Doha Summit.
