The Preparatory Committee of the Media and Tourism Security Conference, slated to be held in Jordan next October, concluded its first meeting to discuss preparations.
The meeting was chaired by Assistant Arab League Secretary General, Head of the Media and Communications Sector, Haifa Abu Ghazaleh. In statements, Abu Ghazaleh said that the conference will discuss a number of issues pertaining to achieving integration between the Media, security and tourism sectors to develop the inter-Arab tourism, which was hit hard by the regional turmoil.
The media, she said, play a key role in giving a positive and correct image to tourists about the security and stability of the tourism destinations in the Arab world, while noting the contribution of tourism to the GDP of many Arab countries, like Jordan, Egypt and Tunisia.
