Arab Parliament Speaker Ahmed al Jarwan on Sunday called on the European Parliament to retreat from a "strange decision" for an EU-wide ban on arms sales to Saudi Arabia.
In a statement, Jarwan said that all perties know that the Arab and Islamic intervention in Yemen came upon a request for the country's legitimate government and legitimate president Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi to confront the terrorist Houthis.
He added that such decisions strengthen the outlaw groups.
Jarwan described the European decision as "strange and illogical".
The European parliament voted by a large majority for an EU-wide ban on arms sales to the kingdom, citing the "disastrous humanitarian situation" as a result of "Saudi-led military intervention in Yemen".
The vote does not compel EU member states to act.
Saudi Arabia began bombing in Yemen last March to support the Yemeni president, who was under threat from Houthi forces aligned with Iran.
