Head of the Foreign and Political Affairs and Arab National Security Committee at the Arab Parliament Ahmed el-Meshriqi said the Arab parliamentary summit will convene here in late February at the Arab League.
In statements on Saturday, Meshriqi said preparations are underway for holding a summit of heads of the Arab parliaments in cooperation with the Arab League, the Arab inter-parliamentary Union and the Arab parliament.
Meshriqi stressed the importance of the coming summit as it will be the first Arab summit for parliamentarians who will discuss current Arab crises and means of settling them.
As for the role of the Arab parliament to stand against the Iranian interference in Arab affairs, Meshriqi said this issue will figure high on the agenda of the summit as it is a key issue in the Arab national security.
He also condemned the recent Iranian attacks on the Saudi Embassy and consulate in Tehran and Mashhad city.
Meshriqi described the recent resolutions of the Arab foreign ministers as "positive" as they come in line with the stances of the Arab parliament.
