Shura Council member Abdulrahman Mohammed Jamsheer has today warned against current dangerous development on the pan-Arab security. Addressing the meeting of the Arab Parliament (AP) Foreign, Political Affairs and National Security Committee in Cairo, Egypt, he cited particularly the scourges of terrorism and sectarian strife which are plaguing several Arab countries.
He stressed the need to update the pan-Arab security covenant which was endorsed in the Arab Summit which was convened in Tunis in 2004 so as to confront emerging dangers and consolidate regional security, stability and peace. The draft amended document will be scrutinized by experts and specialized in a three-day AP Forum scheduled to open on October28. The proposed document will then submitted to the Arab Summit which will be held in 2015.
