Arab League (AL) deputy secretary-general Ahmed bin Helli on Sunday said the pan-Arab organization seeks to activate the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism.
Arab Justice and Interior ministerial meetings are scheduled to be held during the coming weeks, preceded by experts and senior officials' meetings to discuss the required mechanisms to cope with the terrorism, he added in a joint press conference with Mauritania's Permanent Delegate to the Arab League Wedadi Ould Sidi Heiba.
The AL extraordinary meeting of permanent delegates stressed solidarity with Egypt's leadership, government and people in the face of terrorism and condemned the dastardly terrorist attack, which occurred in North Sinai, Bin Helli said.
