Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Araby discussed Monday with Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry the latest developments in the region.
The two sides also followed up the implementation of the Arab foreign ministers' decision during their emergency meeting on January 10 to tackle ways of confronting Iran's meddling in the Arab countries' affairs, Shoukry added in press statements.
Shoukry said that his meeting with the Araby comes as part of continued consultations between Egypt, in its capacity as the recent chair of the Arab Summit, and the pan-Arab body to discuss the latest regional developments, including the situation in Syria, Libya and following up Arab action to support the Palestinian cause at the international arena.
Araby, meanwhile, briefed Shoukry on the outcome of his recent visit to New York and his talks with UN Chief Ban Ki-moon.
