Arab League Secretary General Nabil el Araby called for exerting international, regional and national efforts to protect all human rights and freedoms.
In a statement issued on Human Rights Day, which falls today, Araby urged the international community to adopt policies for resolving crises peacefully to overcome the risks of armed conflicts.
The Palestinian people are the most suffering from the absence of their rights, which have been violated systematically for decades by Israeli soldiers and settlers, Araby said.
Also, thousands of Palestinians are imprisoned without trial and their lands confiscated for the expansion of Israeli settlements, he added.
Efforts have to be exerted to promote the rights and freedoms included in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, he said.
