Syrian President Bashar al Assad has no place in Syria's future, former leader of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces Ahmad al-Jarba said on Sunday.
Emerging from a meeting with Arab League Secretary General Nabil el-Araby at Cairo Headquarters, al-Jarba hoped the Riyadh meeting of the opposition leaders would unify stances ahead of a new session of dialogue between the opposition leaders and the Syrian regime.
Responding to a question on France and US references to keep Bashar al-Assad in office and not to link his departure to the transitional stage, al-Jarba said after five years of killing the Syrians and destruction of their country, Assad has no place in Syria's future.
