
Tunisian National Guard forces stationed in Medenine town foiled on Friday an attempt to smuggle quantity of weapons and live ammunition to terrorist groups in the western highlands of the country, Spokesman for Interior Ministry Mohammed Ali Aroui said in a statement.
Acting upon intelligence information, the Tunisian forces combed a district in Medenine town and confiscated three weapons that were hidden in two vehicles, he added.
Also, the National forces found out a depot that contains huge quantities of weapons and rocket-propelled grenades, explosives and a number of live ammunition, according to Aroui.
