
Roads Projects and Maintenance Director at the Ministry of Works, Municipalities & Urban Planning Raed Al Salah inspected the revamp of Avenue 46 in Arad to organize traffic movement between Arad and Hidd and connect it to the main roads network in the Kingdom.
During the visit, Al Salah met the project contractor, where he urged the team to adhere to completion date and work to overcome any possible obstacles facing implementation. He also directed the contractor to increase the number of workers and working hours, in addition to maintaining safety measures along traffic diversions.
Al Salah discussed with the team the interchange connecting Avenue 46 and Avenue 47 (linking Hatem Al Taei Avenue and Avenue 46); reiterating the importance of coordinating with all service entities in order to facilitate implementation of the project.
The revamp of Avenue 46 in Arad is now 96% complete. Work comprises of re-constructing Avenue 46; the part located between its intersection with Arad and Hidd Avenues to the North and Avenue 46 to the South into a dual road with 2 lanes at each direction at a length of 2.870km.
Work also includes installing traffic signals along the main interchanges, implementing a storm water drainage network, levelling works type (A) and (B), implementing ground channels for present and future use, final asphalt and brick paving works, signage and painting works, implementing safety and pedestrian barriers, lighting and other related works.
The revamp of Avenue 46 in Arad is part of the projects implemented by the Ministry in both Arad and Hidd.
