
Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa entrusted on Thursday Dr Ahmed Ali Agiba, the Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs with delivering the minister's speech and to represent the ministry at East African scholars conference, to kick off in Djibouti on Saturday.
Entitled "promoting intellectual security and confronting threats of religious extremism", the three-day conference is decided to discuss ways of protecting societies from infiltration of terrorist groups.
Under the auspices of Djibouti President, the conference will be attended by a number of ministers and scholars from various Islamic countries in order to propose a strategy to stand up to extremism and terrorism.
Such a strategy will be in coordination with various official and non-official organizations.
