
Awqaf Minister Mohammad Mokhtar Gomaa said Egypt and Saudi Araba are the backbone of the Arab and Islamic nations and their cooperation could doom to failure all schemes against the Arab nation and accelerate the end of terrorism.
The minister's remarks were made to MENA on the fringe of his participation in a symposium on developing Egyptian-Saudi relations in the 21st century. The symposium is organized by the League of Islamic Universities in cooperation with the Egyptian-Saudi Fraternity Association on the occasion of the Saudi monarch's visit to Egypt this week.
Gomaa described as "distinguished and historic" the Saudi-Egyptian relations that are deeply rooted and extended.
He said cooperation between the two countries cover the religious, cultural, economic and social domains which are sponsored by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Saudi monarch King Salman bin Abdel Aziz Al Saudi.
The minister also underlined the importance of the visit which aims at supporting the Egyptian-Saudi relations and coordinating the two states' efforts in face of current challenges in Egypt.
