
Al-Azhar has slammed a truck bombing that hit Iraq on Thursday, leaving scores of people dead and injured.
In a statement on Thursday, Al-Azhar said that Islam criminalizes heinous acts of Daesh terrorist group that contradict with the true teachings of Islam.
Al-Azhar, the highest Sunni seat worldwide, has called on all Iraqi groups to discard division and close their ranks to wipe out terrorism.
Scores of people have been killed and injured after a truck bomb exploded in northeastern Baghdad.
The blast tore through the crowded Jameela market in the predominantly Shia district of Sadr City.
