Al Azhar undersecretary Abbas Shoman asserted on Sunday that renewing the religious discourse is one of the distinguished features of the Islamic Sharia.
This issue was one of the top priorities of the Prophet Muhammed, his companions and his followers, Shoman said.
He made the remarks during his participation in the inauguration of the second session to renew the religious discourse.
Islam rejects rigid views and urges renewing all Islamic fatwas and the religious discourse in general in order to keep pace with any era and any environment, he underlined.
He slammed some opinions which call for giving up the fundamentals of the Islamic religion
