
Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el-Tayyeb asserted on Monday that Azhar’s chief message is creating peace among Muslims as well as between Muslims and others.
During his meeting with Malian Prime Minister Moussa Mara, Tayyeb pointed out at Azhar’s readiness to spread tolerance and peace notions in Mali as well as boosting cultural and religious relations.
Mara conveyed the Malian president's greetings to Grand Imam.
In the meantime, Tayyeb expressed readiness to send more Azhar scholars to work in Mali in the education field in order to spread tolerance and peace values.
Meanwhile, he pointed out that as many as 262 Malians are studying in Azhar.
Industry Minister Mounir Fakhri Abdel-Nour attended the meeting.
