
Al Azhar Supreme Council, under Grand Imam of Al Azhar Dr Ahmed el Tayyeb, has voiced support for state efforts to face terrorism that aims to shake Egypt's security and stability.
Terrorist acts will only make Egyptians stronger and more united in the face of powers of evil and terrorism, the council said in a statement Wednesday.
The council mourned the martyrs of duty, who fell victim to terrorism in Sinai.
It said it will establish a faculty of Al Azhar sciences in South Sinai.
The council also touched upon amendments to a number of in-house regulations of postgraduate education at Al Azhar University.
