Bahrain last night joined Islamic World in marking the Prophet’s Birthday. The annual ceremony was held at Al-Fateh Islamic Centre under the patronage of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) President Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid Al-Khalifa
Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry Undersecretary for Islamic Affairs Dr. Farid bin Yacoub Al-Meftah attended the event along with scholars, members of the diplomatic corps, citizens and expatriates.
Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Al-Meftah stressed the Prophet’s message of tolerance, peaceful coexistence, fraternity between human beings and openness on civilizations and cultures.
"Islam advocates compassion between human being, fraternity and intercultural interconnection", he said, adding that the teachings of Islam have nothing to do with conflicts between civilizations, terror or violent mindsets.
"Islam promotes positive and sane relations between human beings, peoples, nations and civilizations", he said, adding that tolerance, compassion, amity and moderation form the core of the Islamic teachings, beyond any radical religious mantra.
He said that Islam and the Arab identity of Bahrain unite all citizens who are proud of belonging to this homeland, stressing allegiance to the Kingdom and its wise leadership.
He underlined the success of the march of reforms and democratic practices which are taking roots and gaining maturity steadily, stressing the importance of legal and constitutional channels to achieve security, stability, peace and progress.
