
The Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) accomplished numerous milestones in the course of the past year (2013) under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa the Supreme Commander; and, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister:- HM the King the Supreme Commander inaugurates the BDF Museum on February 5, 2013 marking the 45th anniversary of the BDF Day.- His Majesty conducts a series of inspection visits to BDF units and battalions.- His Majesty patronizes Staff-and-Command graduation, which included officers from sisterly countries, on July 2, 2013.- His Majesty issued Royal Ordinance establishing National Defence College for higher strategic defence studies.- His Majesty receives GCC Defence Ministers, emphasized GCC leaders support to joint defence cooperation, boosting the role of the Joint Peninsula Shield Forces as one of the fruits ofoverall cooperation between GCC brethren. - His Majesty issues Royal Ordinance stipulating the allocation of a piece of land for expansion of frontline Headquarters of the Joint Peninsula Shield Forces (JPSF)on December 4, 2013 in recognition of the JPSF’s role.- HRH the Prime Minister inspects the King Hamad University Hospital (KHUH) on 15 May 2013.- HRH Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister visits BDF General Headquarters on June 17, 2013, praising BDF personnel’s high morale, efficiencyand loyalty. - HRH Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister inaugurates Bahrain International Air Show2014 on January 16, 2014 at Sakhir Airbase.- BDF Commander-in-Chief patronizes Royal Artillery live ammo rocket launchers and artillery drills on February 13, 2013, praising remarkable efficiency of firepower and personnel combatreadiness.- BDF Commander-in-Chief attends part of National Shield5 drill on February 20, 2013, praising top-notch levels of efficiency and combat capabilities. - BDF Commander-in-Chief attends part of Compatriot Soldiers1 tactical drill on March 6, 2013, praising highest preparedness and efficiency of participating units.- BDF Commander-in-Chief patronizes several specialized military courses as part of BDF Headquarters training plans and programmes praising efficiency, professionalism, highest morale,skills, combat readiness. - BDF Commander-in-Chief patronizes graduation of first university female cadet officers at the Shaikh Isa Royal Military College on December 25, 2013.- Minister of State for Defence Affairs inaugurates new sections in the Military Hospital on February 21, 2013. - Minister of State for Defence chairs 12th meeting of the Joint Council of GCC Defence Ministers on December 4, 2013. - Minister of State for Defence lays down foundation stone of Joint Naval Security Coordination Centre on December 4, 2013. - BDF Chief-of-Staff attends conclusion of the 9th Peninsula Shield Drill in the State of Kuwait February 25-26, 2013. - BDF Chief-of-Staff attends graduation of a series of specialized and new recruits military training courses. - BDF Chief-of-Staff chairs meeting of the High Military Committee of GCC Chiefs-of-Staff on November 11, 2013.
