
Bahraini politicians, media professionals and businessmen have announced the formation of the Bahraini-Egyptian Friendship Society in the Kingdom's capital, Manama.
The Society's founding board nominated the Advisor of HM the King for Media Affairs Nabil Al-Hamer as the Society's honorary president.
The founders attorney Ameera Al-Hasan said a large number of Bahraini personalities have expressed their desire to join the Society which will work to boost the friendship ties between the Bahraini and Egyptian peoples. She said the founders' latest meeting on Saturday elected ten founding members to submit their names to the Ministry of Social Development as part of the Society's incorporation papers.
The list of founders includes former ambassador of Bahrain to Egypt Khalil bin Ibrahim Al-Thawadi, MP Adel Al-Assoumi, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI)'s first deputy Chairman Othman Sharif, PR and Media Director at the Council of Representatives Ghazi Abdul-Mohsen, businessman Mahmoud Al-Namleeti, businessman Abul-Khair Ibrahim, Salwa Labeeb, and the NHRA's CEO Dr. Baha El-Din Fateeha.
Khalil Al-Thawadi has expressed his delight vis-à-vis the launching of this society which has a counterpart which is the Egyptian-Bahraini Friendship Society in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, which includes the membership of key names and which had expressed its stances in supporting the friendship between the two countries.
The meeting was also attended by a large number of Egyptian personalities, including Ambassador Dr. Nu'man Jalal, Professor Yahya Abdul-Qader, Dr. Khalid Zaki and Akhbar Al-Khaleej's journalist Sayed Abdul-Qader.
